We know you don't want to wade through a legal document just to understand what happens to your resume. Here's the short version:

Text enters your browser. Nothing is sent to our servers yet. Your data lives only in your browser tab until you click Analyze.
When you click "Analyze & Optimize", your resume and job description text is sent over HTTPS to our backend API. The connection is encrypted in transit.
The text is included in a prompt sent to a large language model (e.g., OpenAI or Anthropic) to perform the analysis and rewriting. The AI provider processes this per their data policy — see the section below.
The tailored resume, ATS score, keyword gaps, and suggested changes are returned to your browser and rendered on screen.
We do not write your resume text or job description to a database. The in-memory data used to process your request is cleared when the request completes. We hold no persistent record of your content.
When we say your data is processed in-memory, we mean it lives only in the running process that handles your request — not in a file, not in a database row, not in a log.
Analogy: Think of it like writing on a whiteboard to solve a problem, then erasing it when you're done. The answer exists while you need it. The work disappears once the task is complete. Nothing is written down in a notebook you could come back to later.
Practically, this means:
No persistent database record: Your resume text is not stored in any database table we could later query, export, or breach.
No file storage: Resume content is not written to disk on our servers as a document or file.
No session replay: We do not record your input for playback, review, or audit purposes.
Request ends, data ends: When the API response is sent back to your browser, the in-memory state for that request is released.
The free resume tailoring tool requires
No user profile created: Without an account, there is no record linking your resume content to a name, email address, or any persistent identifier.
No cross-session tracking: We do not tie the results of one session to those of a later session through a hidden user ID.
No email required: We will never ask for your email address before letting you use the core tool.
Optional accounts: If you create an optional account (e.g., to save history or access paid features), different data handling applies and will be described separately in those product flows. The above applies to the anonymous free tool.
To generate your tailored resume and ATS score, we send your resume text and job description to a third-party large language model provider. We want to be transparent about this.
The full text of your resume and the full text of the job description are included in the prompt sent to the AI provider. This is necessary for the model to understand the context and produce a relevant rewrite.

Note: We recommend reviewing the current policies of the AI providers directly, as they may update their terms. If you are applying to roles with highly sensitive information and require enterprise-grade data agreements (e.g., zero-retention guarantees), please review those policies or contact us.
We are an API customer of these providers. While we use API configurations that minimize data retention, we cannot override the providers' own infrastructure policies. We have listed their publicly available policies above so you can make an informed decision.
We don't store your resume permanently. Resume text is not written to a database or file on our servers.
We don't sell your data. Resume content, job descriptions, or any personal information is never sold to advertisers, data brokers, or third parties for commercial purposes.
We don't use your resume to train our models. JobCoach AI does not operate its own model training pipeline. Your data is not used to fine-tune or improve any AI model on our side.
We don't require personal information to use the core tool. No name, email, phone number, or any PII is required to analyze and optimize your resume.
We don't show ads based on your resume content. JobCoach AI does not display targeted advertising based on what you paste into the tool.
Is my resume stored on JobCoach AI's servers?
No. Your resume text is processed in-memory during your request and is not written to a database or stored permanently. Once the request completes, the text is gone from our servers.
Does JobCoach AI use my resume to train AI models?
No. We do not use your resume or job description text to train any AI models. Third-party AI providers that process your content are opted out of training use for API customers by default — see the AI provider section above.
Do I need to create an account?
No account is required to use the free resume tailoring tool. No account means no user profile and no personal data tied to an identity on our side.
Does JobCoach AI sell my data to advertisers?
No. We do not sell personal data or resume content to advertisers or third parties for marketing purposes.
What if I include sensitive information in my resume?
Standard resumes don't usually contain highly sensitive data like financial account numbers or medical records — but use your judgment. Our in-memory processing means the text doesn't persist on our side. However, your content is sent to a third-party AI provider, so review their policies if you have concerns about specific types of information.
